Hmmm… Time For a New Laptop?
What with Vista about to GA, and my trusty sidekick increasingly showing its age (though holding up remarkably well), I’m thinking of getting a new laptop. My must haves are…
- dual core processor (T7xxx series Core 2 Duo would be nice)
- at least 5400rpm drive
- high resolution display - at least 1280×800, more is better
- DVI out, dual-link DVI would be nice
- video card must be able to deal with Aero glass without breaking a sweat
- SP-DIF audio out
So far I’ve looked at this Toshiba P100, the 17″ MacBook Pro (which would be running Vista), and the Dell Inspiron 9400. That said, it may pay for me to wait a while at this point. Already we are seeing the first devices supporting Windows Sideshow and hybrid hard drives look like they will be the new hotness this year.
Any thoughts?
