East Coast Music Awards
I only got a chance to see a few shows last year, as the ECMA’s were in Charlottetown and we only went over for the night (had a blast, though!). This year the awards have come back to Halifax and there’s a ton to see and do. On Thursday night I went to Tribeca to see the Music Nova Scotia showcase with performances by Jon McKiel, Ruth Minnikin, David Myles, Rose Cousins, Jenn Grant, Tanya Davis and Old Man Luedecke (Wow, every one of those musicians has a clueful url. Awesome.). Last night Steve and I followed it up with a show at the Marquee. I got there in time for an awesome show by In Flight Safety. Steve showed up for the last song and then we rocked to an awesome set by Carmen Townsend and the Shakey Deals. That girl’s got some pipes. I finished out my night at The Seahorse with a fun singalong/dancealong set by the Tom Fun Orchestra.
Gotta go. There are afternoon shows to see.
